Some Important Etiquette to Learn in Skate Park

There is quite some negativity that flows around when speaking of the skateparks, and to an extent, it also has some weight. Going to the skate park near your place in a sunny afternoon can be really intimidating, with lots of people around, on razor scooters you will find kids, the teenagers will be on their skateboards, parents will be on lattes. All of these are present at a patch of concrete that is no bigger than a size of two tennis courts. But this intimidation of yours can soon fade away when you see a kid falling down on that concrete patch upon collision with a skateboarder and making it in the headlines next day.

Although almost all the skateboarders are really supportive and especially towards the beginners it does not mean that you can go to a skatepark with no strings attached. It is a common sight to see the entire park cheer for that beginner who just manages to pull out that double flips on his board for the very first time. But still, there are some things that should be taken into consideration while you are having a fun time at the skate park.

Look After your Child

The temptations and all the fuzzy vibes that are there in skatepark can easily take your attention away from your kid. Remember, you are in a skate park, not a daycare center, so you have to take care of your kid on your own. Some people might think what kind of parents would take their attention off their child, but when you are actually there it happens more often than not.

Do not be a Coach

Telling your kid what to do in every step of the way while you are at a skatepark, can really spoil the fun for him. The purpose of a skate park is to ride or lean with no holds barred, there are just no rules, so let your kid be free and creative on his own. Do not act a Michael Jordan here.

Avoid Snaking

The largest cause of collisions at a skatepark is caused due to snaking. When a skateboarder is in a middle of his run and you suddenly drop on to him, this is what snaking is, the best way is to avoid snaking is to be patient and wait for your turn. Even if you snake accidentally or by mistake, just get out of the way ASAP and apologize.

Do not spoil the Fun for others By Marathon Runs

In this case, adults are mostly not involved. Young kids are the major culprits here, as they have a never-ending stamina and the will to go for an eternity so they do it quite often. So if you are a parent ask your kid to keep the runs short and give chance to others as well.

Laughter is the Way Forward

Nobody likes to see a skateboarder curse or throw his board out of anger when h fails to pull off a trick. Although the sport is a bit silly and falling down from the board and swollen ankles and knees are a part of it.  So the next time you fall get up laughing.
